π The Shadow Holds My Light > Reclaiming the Magic I Was Told to Hide
✨ I used to think shadow work was about facing the dark.
But for me, the shadow held my light—the parts of me that were too magical, too sensitive, too much for the world I grew up in.
I suppressed my gifts to fit in.
Now, I’m reclaiming them.
π What Is Shadow Work?
Shadow work is the practice of exploring and integrating the hidden parts of yourself—especially the ones you were taught to suppress.
It’s not just about healing wounds. It’s about remembering who you were before the world asked you to forget.
The shadow can hold:
- Emotions like anger, grief, or fear
- But also gifts like sensitivity, creativity, intuition, and joy
- Anything you buried to survive, belong, or be loved

π My Story: The Suppressed Light
I was the artistic, super-sensitive, full-of-magic child.
I spoke through drawing, music, and silence.
I loved science, mystery, and wisdom.
But people thought it was strange.
I was a different girl,
Boys liked me—until they realized I was a “goody two-shoes” who wanted to talk about stars.
So I changed.
I hid what I loved.
I became a “normal "pretty" girl.”
And suddenly, I was popular.
But I wasn’t whole.
π Reclaiming the Light
Shadow work helped me realize:
The parts I suppressed weren’t flaws.
They were my soul’s signature.
Now, I call back:
- The girl who stargazed from rooftops
- The one who spoke in art and asked for wisdom
- The child who felt the world’s soul and longed to awaken it
I bless her.
I become her again.
π Ritual: Reclaiming the Suppressed Light
1. Create a quiet space—light a candle, open a window, let moonlight in
2. Write a letter to your child-self—name what she loved, what she lost
3. Bless what you buried—say aloud:
“I reclaim my sensitivity, my magic, my wisdom. I welcome myself home.”
4. Close with silence—let your breath become a prayer
π Closing Words
Shadow work isn’t just about facing the dark.
It’s about loving the light you were told to hide.
And when you reclaim it, you don’t just heal—you glow.
