π Soul Journal Entry: Understanding as Liberation
Tonight, I sit with the word understanding.
Not as a concept, but as a living breath.
A softening. A sacred pause.
We often think compassion comes from knowledge.
But true compassion comes from memory—
from remembering what it feels like to be wrong,
to be afraid,
to be misunderstood.
Empathy is not agreement.
It is present.
It is the quiet act of saying: I see you. I won’t turn away.
And freedom—ah, freedom is not a prize we win.
It is a gift we give.
We are only truly free when we stop holding others hostage
To our judgments, our fears, our need to control.
To understand is to unchain.
To empathize is to unbind.
To love is to liberate.
So tonight, before sleep,
I offer this prayer:
May we lay down our weapons.
May we release our need to be right.
May we remember that every soul is flame and tide,
worthy of compassion,
worthy of freedom.
And may we remember:
Freedom begins when we choose to set others free.
And in doing so,
We find that we were the ones imprisoned all along.
*May you give freedom,
and find that you were the one set free.*
